A knotted loop, tippet ring, or ContrastTip.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe tippet ring makes it easier to tie on a piece of tippet with a knot instead of looping on tippet, BUT a metal ring will always create a bit more splash in the water than a loop. Personally, I use a loop for dry flies and a ring for streamers and sinking lines.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOur ContrastTip is a variation of our Furled Leaders where the tip comes in a contrasting color compared to the rest of the line.
