(If you want to use 6x or thinner tippet, we recommend first using 30-60cm of 5x tippet, then an appropriate length of, for example, 6x.)

⮞ ⮟ Loop, Tippet Ring and ContrastTip?
We offer our Furled Leaders with slightly different tip variations: a knotted loop, tippet ring, or ContrastTip.
The tippet ring makes it easier to tie on a section of tippet with a knot instead of looping on the tippet, BUT a metal ring will always create a little more splash in the water than a loop. Personally, I use a loop for dry flies and a ring for streamers and sinking lines.
Our ContrastTip is a variation of our Furled Leaders where the tip comes in a contrasting color compared to the rest of the line. This makes the tip of the leader easier to see on the water surface and can also act as a form of indicator if the fly itself is small or very difficult to see!
NOTE: Tippet ring is available in All-Round and Heavy models. ContrastTip is only available with a loop.
⮞ ⮟ About Furled Leaders
Furled Leaders are made by twisting together multiple strands of material into a tapered leader.
This construction provides excellent control over the fly and a smooth transfer of energy from the fly line to the fly. This, in turn, results in fine and soft presentations that can be crucial for enticing cautious fish in challenging conditions such as mirror-smooth lakes.
In flowing water, Furled Leaders excel due to their natural drift with low "drag," allowing the fly to follow the currents realistically without the leader "pulling" on the fly.
Thanks to their twisted construction, Furled Leaders have almost no line memory and are very "leaderless" unlike a stiff poly or fluorocarbon leader. This can help reduce tangles, and a Furled Leader does not coil into a spiral on the water.

Leader Wax
Non-toxic floatant for fly fishing and Furled Leaders!
Our Leader Wax is primarily designed to be used with our Furled Leaders.
It is handmade and contains only vegetable oils and beeswax, making it completely non-toxic and better for the environment than silicone or petroleum-based products.
I use it myself for both our Furled Leaders and for dry flies; scrape off a piece of wax with your nail, warm it between your fingers, and apply it where you want on the fly, leader, or floating line.
Is there a better floatant on the market?
Yes!..... But, our wax is 100% non-toxic and consists of vegetable oil and beeswax!
⮞ ⮟ Instructions
Place one end of the leader on the wax, gently press the leader into the wax with your thumb, and pull the entire leader between your thumb and the wax 2-3 times.
Smooth out and remove excess wax by pulling the entire leader through pinched fingers.
